What is Pep up to; November 24, 2012?

Over the last month I've been doing some heavy duty editing of 3 of my novels. Content editing, not grammatical which isn't quite as hideous as the latter. Just finished literally 10 minutes ago (and celebrated with a slice of sweet potato pie with whipped cream).

I've been indulging in more leisurely writing; Adaptation, Problem Solver and I now need to focus on publishing some new works. I get many requests to continue stories that I've already written; WOS, Urban Vampire, but I have so many other stories that are dying to be brought to life.

I can barely wait to start on new projects but I still have many obligations that need to be fulfilled first. Book three in the Urban Vampire series will be released in 2013, as well as book 4 of Wheels of Steel.

I've also been doing some reading. I got caught up on my Kim Harrison Hollow's series, and I read an anthology by Tiana Laveen--both were very good. I have Violette Dubrinsky's new novel and I hope to be able to start it this weekend and Creepy RJ has completed a story on Literotica that I helped give feedback on and I definitely want to read the ending. My friend OhMyGoodness has a new story on WattPad that I started and really like. My reading list also includes buying the new novel by Sienna Mynx and reading Wool by Hugh Howey.

As far as my own writing career, it is going well enough for me to consider making it a full time job. My pesky first job interferes with my writing (smile).

And speaking of writing; I noticed a new beta list on Amazon.com. They've had lists for the top 100 best selling stories within specific genres. Several of my stories have appeared on the list in the genres of multicultural, African American and Erotica. But a few days ago I noticed that they now they have a top 100 best selling authors list. It is also separated into specific genres.

I was very proud to see that I was ranked as number 61(changing hourly) in the top selling writers on Amazon.com in the genre of EROTICA.

It's more of a reason for me to seriously consider making writing my career instead of a passtime. But anyways, that is for future consideration. For now I'm going to tackle the next chapter of Adaptation. Talk to you guys later.

    2. You know what Pep,

I forgot to tell you that I am on a boycott of anything WOS related cause I just can't go through the drama anymore. I cannot and will not subject myself to the tears anymore. I can no longer abide by the heart wrenching emotions of Robin and Top...cause I just can't. Call me a baby, whatever. But I refuse to sit here with a whole box of kleenex, crying my eyeballs out over them again. I need a mood stabilizer for that story. lol jk... Or am I?....*thinks about it* hhhhmmm
However... if you ever decided to do another part to the Emo-Boy I will be waiting lol

    3. I started reading WOS again last week. It is some heavy reading, isn't it? Well, I'll tell you what. In this next chapter I promise to add something funny to keep the mood light.

Emoboy was not well received in the digital world. I'm realizing that reception is different based on whether a story is published on Lit vs Amazon. I'll just have to think of something equally as titillating to write

    4. That's cause the whole 50 Shades deal wasn't even in print yet... or still becoming an up and running buzz. lol Since then I have read a couple of stories that are similar to it...its what the market wants. Now had you created a book with Emo boy as some Emo vampire with a BDSM fetish growing up in a town called Cutlery *wink! wink! if you get the jest* going after some chick named Bertha who's the undecided side piece of some dude named Johnathan lol... you would have blown up by now... I'd get to see you on Good Morning America or something.... lol I know I am a whole mess and a half.

    5. Too bad that I am so over the whole fantasy characters. I mean I'm continuing with series that I had began when I was in the genre but I'm done with starting new ones. Although I will admit that I'm very into the whole Zombie Apocalypse thing. White Trash Zombie was soooo cool. And I am a fanatic over The Walking Dead. And I'm still into TrueBlood. Life would be complete if they added some Zombies into it...

    6. I'm not much a Zombie fan...I think watching 28 Days Later did it for me... zombies running around acting like they haven't had their dose of Ritalin... that's crazie-ness...

  7. Wow, you are quite the reader! Do you have a list somewhere of books/stories you love? I know not all of them are probably published, so I would love to know how I could check them out for myself...although I have personally put aside starting anything new for the moment cause I'm completely obsessed with Adaptation right now lol.

  8. I may have made a post of my favorites. But that may have been ages ago. Talking about favorites is tough because I like so many but I LOVE Stephen King's The Talisman and the Gunslinger series. I love Octavia Butler's Kindred, and Xenogenisis series. I'm a huge fan of Kim Harrison's Hollow's series. Donald Goines Black Girl Lost, anything by Nerd4Music (Literotica.com) and CreepyRJ (literotica.com). Anything from Robcub32 (Literotica.com), Calibeachgirl; Chocolate Kisses (Literotica.com).

I also enjoy the poems of Benroe and Theognis each from Literotica.

    Well thats all for now.

  9. I wish you would go full time. I am eagerly awaiting your next book. I haven't read your Urban vampire series but I might have to to tide me over. I just love your romances. I'f love to read a 4th WOS. Keep writting and I'lll surely keep reading.

  10. Thanks LyraryLady. I know that I'm going to go full time as a writer-I just need to figure out the right time to do it. Urban Vampire is going through some re-edits. You may want to hold off before reading it--or you might like reading the before and then after. Although the after is a little more dynamic!

  11. The talent you have, surpass majority of the books I have read on the New York Times Bestsellers list. A career showcasing your mastery is your destiny. You know the saying "I wish I could be a fly on that wall" when I read your stories/novels that is what I become, watching but not disturbing the actions unfolding in front of me, that's a great writer. I'm starting a Pepper Pace bookcase.Godspeed on your new career.
