This is how I write...

Well, figured if I'm going to sit down and write for the first time in weeks then I'll let you guys see the process. Note that I respond to good music. When music I don't like plays I shut down. This is midnight btw and I'm writing Untitled. I'll be posting what I write shortly after this post.

  1. Did you write that entire piece today?

  2. No, it took me two weekends. I haven't been able to write during the week.

  3. Let me qualify my last statement. I write nearly everyday in Vampiric Charms. But I collaborate with others and when I mess up they catch it or write for me.

It now takes me 3x as long to write. This post isn't an indication that my head is back in it. I'm still trying to work some things out. Right now it's hard for me so if they don't come as fast then I apologize.

  4. I think that is absolutely amazing that you can write that much in that small of an amount of time. It takes me a month to write a chapter, but I think that is a sign that I am not a writer. :)

Take your time. Real life and your family come first. We will be here when you are ready. In the mean time, I think I will borrow some of your readers. :)

  5. You're definitely a real writer! That it takes so long is probably an indication that you have more things going on in your life than writing. But yes, if you must borrow them just be sure to send them back. LOL

  6. Thank you letting us see a glimpse of your world during the writing process. I've been reading Untitled and it's so interesting to see the author in action!

  8. This has really nothing to do with your post, however, I wanted to let you I really love your work because you make stories about black women- ALL black women. Light, carmel, dark, shy, even-keeled, outspoken, and hot-tempered. So, they don't feel stereotyped AND they keep it real. Along with the excellent plots, inner monologue, and dialogue, I really appreciate it. I wish there was a way to download or buy it so I can have it on my electrical devices (not the Harlequin-scaled down versions but the originals.)
Do you think you would consider creating another story where the male character is financially, mentally, age, and physically well-adjusted (I know Miscegenist Sabishii was). I know you usually write about the unusual, but I just wondered and thought I'd ask. In two years you have quite a body of work and I hope that we don't burn you out and you can continue your great work. Thanks.

  9. Thank you Anonymous. Untitled has a male character such as that, as well as Blind. But I know what you are saying and I don't yet know all of the stories that I have in me. So far my interests are with unlikely characters. So that is going to be with a black female who finds herself in a love relationship with someone she would not have normally considered. Most of us would consider the rich, goodlooking, well adjusted man.

But who knows what the furture will bring.
