The mouse is dead...

I got up this morning, house is dark, needing to go to the bathroom in the basement since my daughter was already in the shower upstairs.  I walk past the cat, step on something--hope it's not a hairball, but who knows since I'm wearing house shoes.  Before I get to the kitchen I hear the shower stop, go back (avoiding the possible hairball) turn on the light...and see the dead mouse.

I'm not even grossed out by the fact that I stepped on it, or that it managed to find its way upstairs.  I'm just happy that the cat didn't crap out on us after all!  Yippee for Icarus the cat!  So I guess I'm in camera mode because while I'm bamming on the bathroom door for my daughter to get rid of the mouse I am also grabbing my camera phone.  BTW, she is an awesome kid because this is the 2nd mouse that she has gotten rid of inside of 2 weeks.  My mother paid her $100 after she offered to get rid of the dead mouse from her basement bathtub.

My daughters immediately goes into action; asking the necessary questions; Is it dead?  Can I put my clothes on first?  Yes to the first, no to the second.

The jury is out on whether the mouse died by the claws of Icarus...or because my big-ass stepped on it.  But the mouse is out of the house!

And I know someone out there is going to say...but wait, you know you got another one somewhere...

Icarus

  2. wait, your cat likes boiled eggs?

  3. The cat likes boiled egg yolks. If you boil eggs, she seems to sense it. If you crack an egg she is at your feet yelping. Don't let her smell a boiled egg or she comes running. She also likes deli turkey, and chicken bones (which she sneaks out of the garbage).

  4. lol when I had kittens they used to like to sneak and eat my gold fish crackers. I must tell you that I did have one cat that at least cared whether or not I ate. I had just got done cooking about six link sausages so I put the plate with said sausages on my desk and went to get some water, when I came back all but one of the sausages were gone...I wanted to be mad but all I did was laugh and eat my one sausage the cat left me.

  5. I got tricked into adopting the spawn of the devil (we literally renamed him DevilCat) He likes to eat the hair product out of our hair. He will sit on the back of the couch and lick it out of your hair. It is so gross and weird. When he is not doing that I swear he is planning to take over the world I thought about naming him The Brain after the Pinkie and the Brain series but the thought I might be asking for trouble naming my cat after a mouse.

  8. Pep OMG he does, its crazy! Honestly I think he is trying to kill me. I almost posted him on the scary stories page but I thought people would just think I'm nuts. No Joke, he laid on my face one night when I fell asleep on the couch, I woke up and couldn't breathe. He looks at me like he hates me. If I don't respond or comment someday he might have succeeded. lol

  11. I'm not sure what Icky is. We adopted her from an animal shelter when she was just a few weeks old. And Casey, I won't think you are crazy! We actually adopted 2 cats and had to give my sister the 2nd cat because the other was sneaky and evil. The two were brother and sister and Icarus would be the look out. I swear, you could tell that they were communicating. Icarus would be telling Cheekers not to do something and then Icarus would be the lookout. We'd be wondering why she was looking back and forth from the kitchen to the livingroom where we'd be.

So I'd go and investigate and Cheekers would be in the pantry or eating the bread or any number of things. The last straw is when I set dinner in front of my daughter. It was too hot so she was just waiting for it to cool and the cat jumped up on the table, started eating her food then jumped down to the floor, dropped the food onto the floor and stood there nibbling it as he waited for it to cool!

I was so outdone. I told my daughter to put the cat in the cage. I put the cage on the front porch and the next day my sister adopted it. She called me 2 days later and said, 'um...the cat jumped up on the table and is eating the kid's food...'

  12. Lol I think DevilCat would try that but my girls are serious about their food!
They say not to mess with animals while they eat that applies to my kids too. Lilah our dog tried to steal a chicken nugget from my Sammi Sue one time and she got stabbed in her nose with the fork. DevilCat tried to steal bacon from Leelee and was pulled off the table by the tail. That is totally not like them, they love animals and are usually very gentle. They are twins so they share very well, except you can not touch their food. They don't even let me touch their food. lol

Hows Ho-Z holding up lately? Is school still kicking his butt? I have him on my Yahoo but I never really see him on because of the time difference.

  13. I talked to Ho-Z Sunday and he is doing better; at least he's not saying over and over--There's not enough hours in the day! :))

But he started a gallery on his website showing people that have taken pictures wearing his shirt. Kolby's pics are great! I haven't taken my picture yet--even though I'm in camera mode lately, and of course he has been gently nudging me in that direction (and also nudging me about being poky on restarting WOS).

I have a long weekend so I'm pretty sure that I will be working on both.
