A healthier Pepper Pace

I've recently lost 30 lbs in my attempts to create a healthier ME. It's been easier than I expected. I mean, there are no magic tricks-no magic pills or creams and gadgets. There is just a nutritious diet and exercise. Period.

For the most part we all know what we need to do to lose weight. It's just a matter of applying it. Death was a big motivation for me. My weight created an unhealthy person that had high blood pressure, depression, and hypertension. My cholesterol levels were high and I felt like I was literally at death's door.

I went to a doctor as well as a nutritionist. I did NOT want to do what they told me to do...but I did. And soon it just became a part of my life. For me that was the key. I had to stop feeling as if I was dieting and just think in terms of living a healthier life.

Joining Planet Fitness gym has been a big help. Every little bit helps. That's why I was so happy to be contacted by a reader who had an online website called SlimKicker. You gotta check it out, it's very user friendly. When you plug in your information; weight, age, height, goal, etc, it will tell you how much weight you have to lose and the date you should lose it by, as well as what your daily caloric intake should be. I was totally impressed by it. You can create a log, blog, join a team and much more. I'm going to put a link here and join if you are trying to shape up and get healthy. Maybe we can keep each other motivated.

  1. Congratulations on the amazing weight loss. I joined Slimming world (Ireland)4 weeks ago and have lost 14 lbs so far granted I gained a pound one week cause I ate Chinese and curry :P I just noticed that they have expanded and have a US site now and just thought I would share it with you in case your interested. I found the first few times I was trying to lose weight I would get bored of eating the same things or really really hungry and then just go all out and eat eat eat. Back to the point slimming world has loads of really good recipes if you get stuck and need a change. It is kinda like weight watchers but better you can eat pasta, rice, potato's, and meat just make sure that it is lean and you can have hamburger just 95% fat free. Whatever you doing sounds like it has worked great for you but I just thought I would share the site with you. On a totally different note are you gonna sell A Purple World as an ebook? I read and commented (about the name Juicy) when you posted the sneak peak on here and have been hoping that it would be back or you would publish it. Take care good luck and stay motivated you can do it.

  3. Hey Leah, thanks for the information. I will check it out because I do tend to get bored with my diet. Thanks for asking about The Purple World. No, I don't have any plans to turn it into an e-book. I basically wrote it for my daughter and don't expect very many people to be interested in it. I suppose that I shouldn't think that way; I like the story a lot and generally when I like it I find that others share my viewpoint. But no, The Purple World was always intended to be in book form...however, I never say never.

Keep up the good work with your weight loss and I'll check out that site

  4. Congratulations on the weight loss and getting healthy. I just started to exercise a week ago and it's soooo hard for me to stick to a diet and exercise program by myself.

  5. hi keikei, I totally agree. It's hard to start and it's so much easier if you have a support system. Case in point, I despised the thought of going to a gym, but when I was invited by a friend and we worked out together it wasn't half bad. Over the last 2 weeks I've grown to really enjoy working out. Good luck and keep it up, even if it is just small steps...small steps add up.

  6. Pepperpace, I've been a fan for a few years. Just wanted to say congrats on the weight loss. I've been working on that myself. This sounds bad, but it helps me to hear that you also struggled with depression. It always helps me to cope with issues better when I know someone else has gone through the same thing. I'm actually trying to work myself out of a funk as I type. Keep up the hard work ma'am!!

  9. The weight loss is going slow but steady. But because I go to the gym about 5 days a week I'm finding the my body is going through some major transformations! One of the amenities of my gym is redlight therapy and while you are standing in this machine (Much like a tanning booth) you can select an option called 'vibra shake' it it will cause the floor to shake and vibrate which will then cause the cellulite in your body to shift and smooth out. But...it's just damn fun to shake!

Anyways, I reached back and noticed that my booty wasn't where it had been for the last year! It was up much higher and it was tight and rounded again. I was like, 'wait a minute...' You would have thought I was making a porn in there the way I kept touching my booty. Haha.

Lets just say that I am finding more body transformations and loving them. It's slow but maybe that's the way it should be. That's the healthier way and it is teaching me how to live a healthier life that incorporates exercise, healthy eating...and patience.
