Although I typically prefer her prose over her poetry our elder has written some gems. Have you read much of her autobiographical material beyond I Know Why the Caged Bird S? My fave is Singing and Swinging and (Getting or Making can't rightly remember)like Christmas. It is in this piece of her autobiographic work that we see her emerge as a performing artist. She has led a hell of a life. A Great read!
