Which Pepper Pace book should be published first?

Things have happened lately to prompt me to move forward; namely having my story stolen and sold. There is probably never going to be the 'perfect' time to focus my attention on being published. So it's time to just do it. But I need help in determining the right 'breakout' story for me to publish.

Help!

  1. I would say Urban Vampire because the whole vampire thing is really popular. But my favorite is Juicy because I have never read or seen anything like that before. However Someone To Love and My Special Friend are REALLY different too. You know what I didn't provide any help. I just listed my favs...sorry lol

  3. personally, i would hold off on urban vampire until the whole twilight thing is over. Right now, ANY vampire story would seem like a copycat, even one as radically different as yours.

My vote would be for WOS or stranded. What are the word counts on each?

  4. Stranded has approximately 42K which isn't even a novella. WOS is 235K. That is the size of TWO novels!

  5. When did you have a story stolen? Which story?

  6. Some guy posted a story on Smashwords and Amazon on Nov 1 that was the exact replica of STRANDED. The only thing he changed was the name of the story and the name of the characters. Since then his account has been deleted from all sites that I'm aware of.

  7. Juciy is by far one of your best. Its orginal and shows a different on types of characters. I love them they so realistic. I can actually relate to them.

  9. Wheels of Steels is my top choice even though Stranded is probably a really good general audience story.
Urban Vampire would be good if the vampire trend wasn't so overdone at the moment. And I know everyone loves Juicy but It is probably a little too niche market to be a breakout novel.
WOS is very unique, distinct and accessible, which to me is perfect for a first novel.
    Just my 2 cents. :)

  10. What about beast? I loved it and think it would be a wonderful novel. Hell, I'd buy it and I have already read it several times.

Given the manuscript lengths, my vote would be for WOS, but you would have to do major editing in order to reach the 70k to 85k limits imposed by most publishers. Or, you can just do a split and make it two novels, which might be awesome.

Are you looking into ebooks or an actual print? I think an actual print would be awesome.... especially since I dont have an ereader. :)

  11. I meant to say something before when I read about that deadbeat stealing your shit. What an arse! Glad you clocked his virtual ass. Anyway I have no idea how you are gonna make a decision on one!! Why not try for more than one?

Was just back reading WOS a few minutes ago--right before I came over to the blog and saw these posts, WOS is still an incredible read like everyone else says. I didn't get to read the novel version of Juicy missed getting in on that, however the original story on Lit was one of my faves both Juicy and WOS are better than a lot of the stuff I've seen already out there in ebooks. They share with your other stories many great things. Most importantly they are sensual, funny, smart and have a moral center that is astounding. Whatever you put out I will buy cause your work deserves a wider audience. I am a playwright and performer and wish there were more scripts out there for women of all shapes, colors and sizes and emotional spaces to be the stars--the freakin' romantic leads in our own freakin' stories! Best of luck Pep!

  12. Congratulations, Kim, and my suggestion would be The Way Home. It's a fine story, and has never been on Literotica, or anywhere else except here, I believe. I think it would do well for you on Amazon.

Again, congratulations! You very much deserve to be rewarded for all your talent and hard work.

  13. WOS I didn't really like the ending of it... it felt a little rushed like everything was forgiven too easily... but it was an amazing story and you are a very very very (etc) talented writer
