Congrats!!!!! That is the first story of yours that I read. Just because I like vampire stories and that was the BEST one I read on the net.
ReplyDeleteCongrulations on the much deserved win Pep! Am glad that your work is gaining the attention it deserves. Wishing you all the very best in all your future endeavours my dearest. =) Much love! Alex.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Pep, well deserved award.
ReplyDelete...hmmm, where's my money???
ReplyDeleteCongrats. Maybe it is time to drop the aspiring from your profile?
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying Wheels of Steel. It makes me think about the problems that my son, now a struggling college student, has in perhaps an even more difficult situation than Jason's. His passion, if there is any, is buried within the prison of Asperger's syndrome.
Pep, you have to contact Literotica within 120 days of the announcement of your win to collect the money. Congrats again on the first place. I'm sure it's only the first. :)

Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that your son is pursuing a higher education despite having to deal with Aspergers. I have always been intrigued with the spectrum of autism and have wanted to write a character with some form of the disorder.
I suppose that writing about things like this allows me to understand people with differences. More then that, because I'm such a empath, it gives me the ability to share that with others.
Thanks for the info JG. 120 days...I wonder how many people just don't contact Lit for their winnings. But anyways, I was very surprised by the win. When people look at the W next to a story list perhaps they look at the other stories written by that author. I know that the interracial genre is not very popular. My hope is that people will give it a chance. I hear comments all of the times about the crudeness of the genre. When I've looked at the FORUM, you definitely get an insight of the pettiness and loftiness that people have against the category.
ReplyDeleteyou got to give props to IR writers like SOULAR for paving the way. She took the brunt of so much jealousy and belittling. Seriously, people, you should go check it out. I was seething when I read the comments about her wins.
But yeah, I didn't miss the fact that the win went to a story that I had written outside of my normal IR category. And don't get me wrong, I like Urban Vampire. But I don't think that it is anywhere near the best writing that I've put out there. But most people won't know that because they don't touch the topic.
Sad
You're welcome, Pep. I'm sure some people have failed to collect their prize money. Apparently Literotica doesn't notify writers that they've won, other than the general announcement. Also, the time limit to collect isn't widely known.
ReplyDeleteAs far as your comments about the IR genre are concerned, if you think the condescension and worse are bad now, you should have seen some of the comments on the forum last year that are no longer there. Those comments were one reason I was so glad soular won so many times for Damn Dress.
